The prices of daily commodities are increasing day by day in the country. As a result, those with limited income are struggling to make ends meet.
Some products like rice, pulses,
sugar, oil, and onion are being sold in the open market through the government
organization Trading Corporation of Bangladesh or TCB so that people with
limited income can get daily necessities at low prices.
Family cards will be added to the
sale of TCB products from March 20 (Sunday). This activity will start with the
area outside Dhaka City Corporation.
Today, Tuesday (March 15), TCB
spokesman Humayun Kabir confirmed the information. TCB says that from March 20,
the sale of TCB products through Family Card will start simultaneously (first
phase) across the country outside Dhaka City Corporation.
In this regard, TCB spokesperson
Humayun Kabir said that the first phase of TCB's product sales program will
start on March 20 outside Dhaka City through Family Card. Family cards are
being issued by UP chairmen, members, and ward councilors representing the
district administration and local government.
According to TCB sources, a buyer
can buy a maximum of two kg of sugar at tk 55 per kg, two kg of lentil pulses
at tk 65 per kg, 2 liters of soybean oil at tk 110 per kg, and 2 to 5 kg of
onions at tk 30 per kg.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told
a meeting with leaders of the 14-party alliance at Ganabhaban on Tuesday
morning that the government would issue special cards to one crore people so
that low-income people could buy goods at lower prices.
