A fire broke out in a building called China Dormitory at Merul Badda in the capital. The fire broke out around 6:30 pm on Wednesday (March 16).

Acting on the tip-off, three units of the fire service left for the accident site. However, their vehicles got stuck on the road due to traffic jam.

More than half an hour after the fire was reported, a fire service unit arrived at 7:10 pm and started trying to contain the blaze.

This information was given by Rashed bin Khalid, duty officer of the control room of the fire service.

He said that after receiving the information, three units of the fire service left Baridhara for the accident site. However, due to traffic jam, it was getting difficult to reach the spot fast. We have also informed the police.

It is learned that the Chinese engineers in charge of construction live inside the project area in that residence. Immediately after the fire broke out, the project staff and the people of the area started trying to control the fire.

As soon as the fire broke out, panic spread in the surrounding area.
