Special Inoculation Drive on Thursday Commemorating Bangabandhu’s Birthday

Bangladesh will launch a special Covid-19 vaccination drive on Thursday commemorating the birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque made the announcement at a media call in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The campaign will last till March 31, and the government plans to administer 32.5 million Covid-19 vaccine doses, including the first, second and booster doses, during that time, said the minister.

He also said people will be eligible for the booster shot four months after taking the second dose. Earlier, the waiting period between the two shots was six months.

The government will start vaccinating under-12s once the WHO approves it, said the minister.
