Sunken Launch Lifted from Shitalakhya after 16 Hours

Sunken launch "MV Afsar Uddin" was recovered from Shitalakkhya river in Narayanganj early Monday, reports media.

Rescue ship Pratyay of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority managed to bring the launch out of the water around 5:15 am, reports media quoting Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense.

The search operation has been concluded as no new bodies were found inside the launch, said Mizanur Rahman, deputy director of BIWTA.

The rescue vessel Pratyay started its rescue operation from 11pm on Sunday.
