Satkhira district Jamaat Amir and former MP Abdul Khaleq Mandal and Khan Roknuzzaman have been awarded the death penalty for war crimes in 1971.
A three-member bench of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) headed by its Chairman Justice Md Shahinur Islam pronounced the verdict on Thursday. Khan Roknuzzaman has remained absconding.
Abdul Khaleq Mandal and three others committed crimes including murder, violation, arson, confinement, and forced conversion during the liberation war in 1971.
The ICT indicted them on March 5, 2018, in relation to a case lodged on March 19, 2017.
Out of the four accused, two died in the course of the trial.
