Tipu's Assassination Planned in Dubai: RAB

RAB has arrested four more people in connection with the murder of Awami League leader Zahidul Islam Tipu and Badrunnesa Mahila College student Samia Afnan Prity in Shahjahanpur.

They are Omar Farooq (52), Abu Saleh Sikder (38), Nasir Uddin (38), and Morshedul Alam (51). One of them is Mastermind and the other three are those who followed Tipu's activities.

This information was given by Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director, Legal and Media Wing, RAB Headquarters at a press conference held at RAB Media Center on Saturday (April 2).

According to RAB, the Milky massacre took place in front of Gulshan Shoppers World in the capital in 2013. The detainees were Milky's associates. The detainees suspected that Tipu was involved in the incident. Tipu was the accused in the case filed against Milky. But his (Tipu's) name was dropped in the judicial proceedings. Which created an angry reaction in the minds of those arrested. The RAB also said that there was a long-running dispute between the victim and the mastermind of the murder. In the Motijheel area there were conflicts between them regarding extortion, tenders, school-college admission trade, market control, and expansion of domination.

Khandaker Moin said the planners budgeted Tk 1.5 million for Tipu's assassination. Underworld don Musa is responsible for killing Tipu. Musa left for Dubai 12 days before the incident. Sitting there, he planned to assassinate, starting with the appointment of the killer.

Four people were arrested in raids in different parts of the capital on Friday (April 1).

Earlier, 48 hours after the murder of Tipu-Prity. Motijheel Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Police arrested a man named Masum alias Akash. Police say Masum publicly shot and killed Tipu on a busy road.

Zahidul Islam Tipu, 54, was shot dead by miscreants in the Amtala Mosque area of ​​Shahjahanpur in the capital at around 10 pm on Thursday (March 24). College student Samia Afrin Prity (24) was killed in the same incident. Tipu's driver Monir Hossain Munna was also injured in the shooting. Doctors pronounced the two dead when they were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Later on Friday (March 25), Tipu's wife Farhana Islam Dolly, a councilor of Dhaka South City Corporation's 11th, 12th, and 13th wards, filed a case with the Shajahanpur Police Station. She did not name anyone in the complaint.
