Evaly CEO Russel Gets Bail in 9 Cases

A Dhaka court has granted bail to e-commerce company Evaly’s chief executive officer (CEO) Mohammad Rassel in nine cases filed over cheque fraud.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court passed the bail order on Thursday (April 21).

Confirming the matter, Russel’s lawyer Ahsan Habib said, “Russel secured bail in nine cases. But he cannot be released now as there are many more cases against him.”

When asked about the exact number of cases filed against Russell, the lawyer said, “There are many cases filed against him. New cases are also being filed. I cannot say the exact number of cases filed against him at this moment.”

Mentionable, a customer named Arif Baker filed a lawsuit against Evaly MD, CEO Mohammad Russel, and his wife, Evaly’s chairman Shamima Nasrin over fraud and embezzlement with the Gulshan police station on September 15 last year. RAB arrested them from their Mohammadpur residence in the capital the following day.
