Water Levels of Northeastern Districts' Rivers Receding

The water levels of the main rivers of the country's northeastern districts have started receding. The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center said that the flood situation could improve as there is no fear of renewed rains.

According to the meteorological forecast for Bangladesh and India on Saturday (April 23), heavy rainfall is not forecast for the next 48 hours in the north-eastern part of the country (Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, and Barak Basin). As a result, water shortage in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Kishoreganj, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, and Moulvibazar districts may continue.

According to the forecast, the water of two points of the two rivers is above the danger level today, Saturday. The water level of Khaliajuri Point of Baulai River in Netrokona is 23 cm above the danger level and the water level of Kamalakandha Point of Someshwari River is 3 cm.

Meanwhile, it was said that 30 mm of rain fell in Netrokona and 23 mm in Chandpur.
