Princess Mary Elizabeth of Denmark Arrives in Dhaka

Crown Princess of Denmark Mary Elizabeth has arrived in Dhaka on a three-day visit.  A special flight carrying her landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Monday morning.

Arriving in Dhaka on the first day of her visit, Princess Mary Elizabeth will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.

After attending a luncheon hosted by the Danish Ambassador in Dhaka, the Danish princess will have a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen at a hotel in the capital in the afternoon. She is scheduled to reach Cox’s Bazar at around 5 pm to see the Rohingyas.   

On Tuesday morning, the Denmark Princess will attend a briefing at the Danish Refugee Council-DRC. Later, she will visit the Rohingya camp by car. She will exchange views with some Rohingya refugees there. Besides, she will hold a talk with the local community.

Princess Mary Elizabeth will leave Cox’s Bazar for Satkhira on Wednesday morning. The Princess will talk to people at risk of climate change in the Kulti village in this coastal district. Besides touring the town, she will visit the local cyclone shelters and embankments. The Princess is scheduled to leave Dhaka that night.
