Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said a decision would be taken after discussing whether the Tentultala ground in Kalabagan would remain as a playground or whether a building for a police station would be constructed there.

"We think it's normal for kids to play on the playground," he said. As important as the playground is, so is the police station of the law enforcement agencies. What can be done in the place, we will discuss and decide later.

However, he said that he was looking for an alternative for the police station, but indicated that the construction of a building on the ground could not be avoided without finding an alternative place.

The Home Minister made the remarks while addressing a function at Government Science College, Tejgaon on Monday (April 25).

Asked about the Tentultala ground, he said, "The condition of the sport we used to play is no more. That is why we feel sorry for the next generation. The main reason for this is our urbanization, our space becomes limited. When it comes to Kalabagan, whatever we say, law enforcement has a big responsibility in terms of importance. If we fail to maintain law and order, everything will fall apart."

The minister said Kalabagan police station has been working in the rented building for a long time. DC identified the place as khas land and allotted it to the Kalabagan police station. When it comes to building at the end of the process, the demand for a playground arises.

“Our mayor told us to move from one place to another,” he said. We think that the children will play in the playground, that is normal and in order to have a playground, we think that the playground needs to be arranged.

Regarding a woman and her son who were detained by the police all day on Sunday for protesting against the setting up of a police station at Tentultala ground, the Home Minister said that they came in live video and spread some inconsistent information. That is why the law-enforcement forces repeatedly tried to stop them. At one point when they could not stop they were taken to the police station for questioning and at the end of the questioning, they were released.
