Launch Services Halted on Banglabazar-Shimulia Route

The authorities concerned on Saturday suspended launch operations on the Banglabazar-Shimulia route due to the rough weather, reports media.

The suspension, however, brought suffering to the home-goers ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The launch services were halted at 7:00 pm as there is a possibility of nor'wester,” said Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Assistant Traffic Inspector (Banglabazar launch terminal) Md Farid.

The authorities took the decision to avoid any accident.

The launch services will resume once the condition becomes normal, he added.
