RAB Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that
after analyzing intelligence information, cyber monitoring and other
information, no specific information was found about any attack centered on
Eid. Yet we do not suffer from complacency. RAB is ready to thwart any sabotage
plan by increasing intelligence surveillance and cyber monitoring.
He said this while inspecting the security arrangements of
the National Eidgah on Sunday (May 1) morning.
The RAB has stepped up surveillance across the country to
ensure overall security during Eid-ul-Fitr, the director-general said. He said
a sufficient number of RAB members have been deployed in their respective areas
to strengthen security. Sweeping will be done by RAB Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog
Squad at various places including National Eidgah and important Eidgahs of the
country.
In addition, for overall security, there will be RAB control
room, striking reserve, foot, and mobile patrol, vehicle scanner, observation
post, check post, and CCTV monitoring system.
Check posts have been set up at bus stands, railway stations,
launch terminals, and temporary RAB camps for the safety of homebound people on
Eid.
He said that a hotline (01777720029) has been opened by RAB.
In the virtual world, RAB's cyber monitoring team will
continue to monitor online to prevent any kind of rumors, provocative
information, and spreading of false information centering on Eid, he added.
