A fire at Hawkers Market on the banks of the Laldighi in the Sylhet metropolitan area has gutted goods worth crores of Takas.
The fire was held under control for 2.15 hours thanks to the
efforts of 17 units of fire service. The fire service brought the fire under
control at around 5:30 am on Monday.
However, there were 1,035 clothes and other daily
necessities in the market.
It is learned that the fire broke out on Sunday (May 1) at
around 3 am. Within moments, the fire spread to multiple alleys of the market.
Upon receiving the news, 17 units of fire service from Jaintapur and Golapganj
upazilas of Sylhet metropolitan area joined in the firefighting work. Later on Monday
(May 2) at around 5:30 am, the fire was brought under control after a 2.15-hour
effort.
