A Dhaka court has given an order to send expelled Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat to jail in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Judge of the Special Judge Court-6 of Dhaka Al Asad Md Asifuzzaman passed the order after he had surrendered to the trial court on Tuesday noon.

He surrendered to the court around 12.30pm and filed a bail plea.

Earlier, the High Court cancelled bail granted to Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat in the case filed by the ACC. The court also ordered him to surrender to the trial court within seven days.

On May 11, the Judge of the Special Judge Court-6 of Dhaka, Al Asad Md Asifuzzaman, granted bail to Samrat in the ACC case.

On November 12 of 2019, the ACC filed the case against Samrat with its Integrated District office-1 of Dhaka for amassing an illegal wealth of Tk 2.94 crore.
