Palak Urges Youth to Receive IT Training, Become Entrepreneurs

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday hoped the youths of Digital Bangladesh will not chase after jobs, rather they would become entrepreneurs by receiving IT training to create employment opportunities for thousands of youths, reports BSS.  

He made the remark while laying the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at Ghior Upazila in the district, said a press release from the ICT Division.

Palak expressed his optimism that the IT training centre will be a shelter of employment for the young generation.

It will play an important role in turning the country into a knowledge-based, smart and economically developed Bangladesh from a labour-based economy, he said, adding that the IT centre will contribute significantly in preparing the youths in facing the fourth industrial revolution.

The state minister also hoped that the Bangladeshi youths in future will develop robotics, IoT, and cyber security tools for exports.

The six-storey IT training centre is being built in Manikganj at a cost of Tk 85 crore. Once opened, it will facilitate the training of 1,000 youths.

Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Diesel Plant Limited Managing Director Brigadier General Syed Md Rafiqul Islam, Manikganj district AL President Advocate Golam Mahiuddin, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Latif, Police Super Md Golam Azam Khan, and Ghior Thana AL President Abdul Awal Mintu, among others, were present.

Manikganj-1 lawmaker Naimur Rahman Durjoy chaired the event.
