Two more bodies have been recovered
from the rubble after a fire and explosion at the BM container depot in
Sitakunda, Chattogram.
Cumilla Fire Service Assistant
Director Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman confirmed that the two bodies were recovered on
Tuesday (June 7) morning.
He said fire service personnel
recovered parts of two more burnt bodies during the depot's removal work.
Looking at the clothes, it looks like a corpse of a fire service worker.
However, we are not yet sure about this.
Mohammad Al Amin, a firefighter, said
work was under way to identify the body from the scene. In many places, the
bones will be collected and DNA tested and handed over to the family.
Meanwhile, the army said that the
fire at the depot came under control after 61 hours. They also said that there
is no major danger from this depot.
The fire broke out inside the BM
container depot loading point at around 9pm on Saturday (June 4). While working
on fire control, a container containing chemicals exploded with a loud sound.
The blaze has so far killed 43
people, including nine firefighters. More than four hundred were injured.
