Flood Hits Sunamganj District Again

Due to heavy rains and the onrush of hilly water, a fresh flood has hit the Sunamganj district. Floodwater has inundated many areas of the district, rendering thousands of people marooned. Many educational institutions have been declared closed due to worsening flood situations.

Many roads of Bishwamvarpur, Chhatak, Dowarabazar, and Tahirpur Upazilas have been submerged. Road communications of four upazilas have been disconnected with the district headquarters.

The Surma river was flowing 11cm above the danger level around 9.00 am on Monday.
