Mild Heatwave May Continue in Four Districts

The ongoing mild heatwave is likely to continue in four districts, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9:00 am on Monday, reports BSS.

"Mild heatwave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore, and Chuadanga and it may continue," said a met office release.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," the met office bulletin said.

The bulletin also predicted that the rain or thundershowers activity may increase during the next 72 hours.

However, the day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 36.8 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature on Monday was 21.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00 am on Monday was recorded 57 mm at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6:47 pm on Monday and rises at 5:11 am on Tuesday in the capital.
