Rain Likely in Parts of Country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow, reports BSS.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Rangpur divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a met office bulletin issued.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi in Rajshahi division and today's minimum temperature was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda in Chattogram.

The highest rainfall during the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 45 millimeter (mm) at Khepupara in Barishal.

The sun sets at 6.50 pm today and rises at 5.15 am tomorrow in the capital.
