Employees have started returning home to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with their loved ones. Traffic congestion on the Sirajganj highway started increasing from Wednesday night (July 8). Despite heavy traffic on the highway on Friday (July 8) morning, no traffic jams have been reported so far.
Besides, the two lanes of the newly constructed Nalka Bridge have been opened next to the risky old Nalka Bridge.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station Mosaddek Hossain said the traffic had increased a lot since Thursday night (July 8) but there was no traffic jam anywhere. At present, there is a lot of traffic in the northbound lane of Bangabandhu Bridge West Roundabout area. As a result, there is a slight slowdown at times, but no traffic jams have occurred yet.
Hatikumrul Highway Police Officer in Charge (OC) said. Lutfar Rahman said that despite the increase in traffic on the highway, there is no traffic jam anywhere on the highway under the Highway Police Station. Highway police have deployed an additional 115 policemen on the highway from Tuesday (July 5th) to ensure a smooth Eid procession like last Eid. Among them are 50 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) members. Along with 35 more members of the highway police, a total of 150 policemen are working on the highway from the highway police station.
