Two motorcyclists were killed and two pillion riders injured in two separate road accidents on Dhaka-Aricha Highway today, reports BSS.
Both the accidents occurred in head-on collision, Highway Police sources said.
The deceased were identified as Abdullah Al Mamun, 45, son of late Jashim Uddin of village Charkhandi under Manikganj Sadar Upazila and Juel, 14, resident of Village Tuperbari under Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police Md. Zakir Hossain said the first accident occurred at about 10.45am in Arpara area of Shibalaya Upazila of the district when a truck and a motorcycle collided head-on leaving Abdullah Al Mamun dead on the spot and his co-rider Tawhidul Islam, 19. wounded.
The second accident took place at about 11.45 am in Baniajuri bus-stand area under Ghior upazila of the district, when a passenger bus and a motorcycle collided head on, leaving motorcycle rider Juel dead on the spot and his co-rider Tushar seriously injured, Barangail Highway Police sources told BSS.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Barangail Highway Police Md. Zakir Hossain said both the truck and passenger bus were seized but the drivers and the helpers managed to flee away.
