Jamaat Secretary General, 9 Others Charge-Sheeted in Anti-Terror Case

Police has filed charge-sheet against 10 accused including Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar in a case lodged under anti-terrorism act.

Investigation agency Detective Branch (DB) of police filed the charge-sheet at Dhaka Anti-Terror Special Tribunal.

"The tribunal has set July 21 for holding hearing on taking the charge-sheet into cognizance," Sub-Inspector Ranap Kumar of court's general registration wing told the media.

The other accused in the case are-- Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer ANM Mohammad Shamsul Islam, Assistant Secretary Generals AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad and Md Rafiqul Islam Khan, Central Executive Council Members Md Abdur Rob, Md Ijjat Ullah and Md Mobarak Hossain, Executive Council Member Md Yasin Arafat, Rafiqul's driver Md Monirul Islam and party activist Md Abul Kalam Azad.

Police on September 6, 2021, arrested nine of them including Parwar from a flat at Block-D of Dhaka's Basundhara residential area. Police filed the case with the capital's Bhatara Police Station on the same night.
