State
Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that the AC
was not asked to be completely turned off in the mosque.
He said
this in a briefing at the Secretariat on Monday (July 18) on the issue of
electricity savings in the country.
The
state minister said we are using AC in large quantities in places of worship. We
need to be a bit frugal here. They only use the time of prayer, they should
keep it closed during the rest of the time.
In
response to a question from journalists, he said that worshipers should use
electricity economically in mosques, temples, and churches. Because we know, a
lot of ACs are installed nowadays. Be frugal in running AC during namaz and
turn off the AC after namaz. That's our suggestion, that's how we think.
In
response to another question, he said, "We have seen in many places, many
people run the AC except during the prayer time. That's why we request you to turn
the AC on at certain times. Save as much as you can, that's our request.
