DPDC Publishes 1 Hour's Load Shedding List

Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited-DPDC, the capital's power distribution company, has decided to carry out load-shedding for one hour a day in its covered areas.

The organization has published a list of the areas online. However, after publishing on Monday, it is not possible to enter the list by clicking. According to the company, this problem has been created due to more people clicks than their capacity.

Due to the increase in the price of fuel oil, which is one of the components of electricity production due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the government has already announced the decision to provide load shedding as per the schedule. It has been informed that electricity will be shut off for a maximum of two hours per day.

According to this announcement, the distribution companies have fixed the schedule of when and where the load shedding of electricity will take place, which is going to be effective on Tuesday.

DPDC Managing Director Bikash Dewan said, 'Load shedding will start as per schedule from tomorrow. Load shedding is scheduled for one hour every day. As a result, our customers will be without electricity for any one hour throughout the day.

DPDC provides electricity to 36 areas in and around Dhaka. Within Dhaka, the company provides electricity services to: Adabar, Azimpur, Banshree, Banglabazar, Bangshal, Basabo, Demra, Dhanmondi, Jhigatla, Jurain, Kakrail, Kamrangirchar, Khilgaon, Lalbagh, Maniknagar, Matuail, Mogbazar, Motijheel, Mugdapara, Narinda, Paribagh, Postgola, In Rajarbagh, Ramna, Satmasjid, Shyamoli, Sherbangla Nagar, Shyampur, Swamibagh and Tejgaon areas.

And in Narayanganj there are: Fatulla, Kajala, East and West Narayanganj, Siddhirganj and Shitalakshya.

However, the managing director of DPDC also thinks that it is possible to reduce load shedding to zero if the customers are cost-effective. So he urged everyone to save electricity.
