108 Players Held over Playing PUBG Game in Chuadanga

Police arrested 108 young men from a community centre in Shahortoli area of sadar upazila in Chuadanga on Wednesday for playing ‘harmful and addictive’ online games like Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds.

The identities of the arrested could not be known immediately, the police official said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Chuadanga police conducted a drive in the community centre and arrested them while they were gathering there to participate in an online PUBG competition in the afternoon, Chuadanga police station officer-in-charge Mahbubur Rahman said.

The police also recovered money and 110 mobile phone sets from their possession.

The arrested are the residents of different districts in the country and many of them are school and college students, the police official said.

Chuadanga additional superintendent of police (sadar circle) Anisuzzaman said that legal action would be taken against them considering their age.
