The organization of Liberation War Fighters of Bangladesh has lodged a protest (July 22) against the posting of a distorted image of Bangladesh on the official Facebook page of the High Commission of Pakistan in Dhaka. The official Facebook page of the Pakistan High Commission has displayed a flag which adds moon and crescent to the original Red and Green flag of Bangladesh.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Liberation War Fighter’s organisation ‘Muktijoddha Manch’ has demanded exemplary punishment for the act of desecration of the national flag. The press release said that the flag was earned by the sacrifice of millions of Bangladeshi people. It said if strict action is not taken immediately against the Pakistan High Commission, it will launch a nationwide movement.

The Muktijoddha Manch also demanded prosecution of the Pakistani army at the International Criminal Court for carrying out genocide in the then East Pakistan killing more than 3 million people in the country. Accusing Pakistan of constantly committing activities against the ideals and spirits of the Liberation War of 1971, Muktijoddha Manch demanded an apology from Pakistan for atrocities committed during the liberation war of Bangladesh against its people.
