Eight Shops Gutted in Barguna Fire

Eight shops were gutted in a fire at Fakirhat Bazar of Sonakata union in Taltali upazila of the district early hours of today.

The fire originated from a shop of the Bazar at around 3am and soon engulfed the adjacent business establishments, Fire Service and Civil Defense Station of Taltali upazila sub-officer Md Ahsan Habib said.

On information, Fire Service and Civil Defense Station of Taltali upazila doused the fire with the help of locals and affected businessmen at about 4.30am, he added.

The affected businessmen claimed that the extent of losses caused by the fire would exceed about Taka two crore.
