fishermen missing from fishing trawler that sank in storm in Bay of Bengal have
been found in India.
This
information was confirmed by Ansar Uddin Molla, President of Alipur Kuakata
Fishery Owners Association. He said that South Sundarban Fishermen and Fish
Works Union of India informed him about the rescued fishermen and sent them
along with pictures. Among them, fisherman Jasim Majhi's house is in Bhola's Char
Fashion. Besides, Ibrahim, Fazlu Chowkidar, Jamal Sardar, Kamal Howladar, Yusuf
Howladar, Kashem Musulli, Abul Kalam, Abbas Gazi Saju, Akbar Hossain, their
homes are in different unions of Mahipur Upazila.

Uddin Molla said that the control room is always being kept in touch during the
rescue operation of the missing fishermen. Seven of our trawlers are still missing.
Contact is being maintained with Indian Fisheries Union. They will inform us if
any more missing fishermen are found.
On
the other hand, 17 fishermen of a trawler named FB Amjad of Cox's Bazar, whose
bottom burst in the waves of the Bay of Bengal, were rescued from the buoy
area. Another trawler FB Sagarkanya, which returned from Chalanbaya area on
Friday afternoon, brought them to fishing port Mahipur on Saturday afternoon.

Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khondkar Abul Khair said, 11 of the
missing fishermen have been rescued in India. He also said that all but one of
the missing fishermen on the south coast near Kuakata have been rescued.
