Man Stabbed to Death in Cox's Bazar over Ludo Game

A man was allegedly stabbed to death at Pekua Upazila in Cox's Bazar district on Sunday night.

The victim was Abdul Malek, 55, a resident of Bainnaghona area under Monama union in the Upazila, reports media.

Locals said Hossain, son of the deceased Malek, and Naibur, son of Nurul Amin engaged in an altercation over a Ludo game around 9:00 pm. Hearing the news, Malek and Nurul rushed to the spot.

At one stage, Nurul indiscriminately struck Malek with a sharp machete, leaving three people, including Malek, injured.

They were rescued and taken to Pekua Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared Malek dead.

Pekua Police Station officer in-charge Farhad Ali said the body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police are trying to arrest the involved people, he added.
