Four Held with Hemp in Jamalpur

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)in a drive arrested four alleged drug peddlers along with huge hemp in Jamalpur municipality area on Sunday night, reports BSS.

The arrested persons were identified as Foysal, 22, of Burichong Upazila in Cumilla district, M Zakir Hossain, 32, hailing from Tarail Upazila in Kishoreganj district, M Murad Miah, 28, and Md Jahangir Alam, 28, residents of Nandail Upazila in Mymensingh district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Basakpara area of the district town and arrested them around 11:45 pm, RAB sources said. RAB members recovered 12-kilogram of hemp after searching a pick-up van.

A case was registered with Jamalpur Sadar police station in this connection.
