Monday (August 29).
The
foreign secretary said, we have called their (Myanmar) ambassador today. He was
reprimanded in a note verbale. So that this kind of incident does not happen
again.
Masud

It is
to be noted that two mortar shells arrived from Myanmar in the Ghumdhum area of
Bandarban near the zero point of
the Bangladesh-Myanmar border yesterday around 3 pm. Later around 12:30 am,
bomb expert team of Army and BGB destroyed a mortar shell. Another shell is
scheduled to be destroyed this afternoon.
In an
immediate response to this incident, Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen said
yesterday that it will be investigated whether it was an accident or
intentional. Myanmar will be alerted if there is an accident. Earlier, Myanmar
mortar shells landed on the border. We still protested.
