9 Killed in Two Buses Collision in Rangpur

Nine people were killed and more than 50 injured in a collision between two buses on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Rangpur district early Monday, reports media.

Of the dead, five died on the spot while four succumbed to their injuries at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

The accident took place near Kharubhaj Bridge in Taraganj at about 12:30 am.

Md Farhaduzzaman, RMCH's emergency department doctor, said, "Injured two died at about 3 am while undergoing treatment. The dead body of the four are kept at the hospital morgue. Twenty-three injured people are currently undergoing treatment while the rest left the hospital taking first aid."
