Outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami said, we want to see the people of Bangladesh happy. Want their development and want to see a successful democracy. Your democracy is your balanced development.
He said these things in response to journalists' questions after paying respects at the Savar National Memorial at 9:30 a.m. today, Saturday (September 17).
Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami said this is not the place to talk about politics. Today, on my last day in Bangladesh, I want to say that we always stand by Bangladesh, we stand by the people of Bangladesh. The government will work for the country. We are never on anyone's side there.
Mentioning that he has seen the success of Bangladesh during his duty, this diplomat said that our friendly relations have improved. That should continue. I want that.
Incidentally, Doraiswami
has completed two years of duty in Bangladesh. Now he will work as India's
Ambassador to UK.
