PM Orders to Build House for Football Star Rupna Chakma

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the authorities concerned to build a house for Rupna Chakma, a proud member of Bangladesh Women Football Team that clinched the title of SAFF Women's Championship, 2022 beating host Nepal by 3-1 goals, at her Rangamati home town.

The premier, now in New York to attend the 77th UNGA summit, gave the instruction after her attention was caught on a picture of Rupna Chakma's dilapidated house that went viral on the social media.

PM's Press Secretary Ihasanul Karim told BSS that the Prime Minister ordered to build a house for Rupna Chakma, who became the best goalkeeper in the just-concluded SAFF Women’s Championship in Nepal.

However, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangamati, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman visited the homes of Rupna Chakma and her fellow player Ritu Porna with sweets, fruits and flowers to greet them for winning maiden SAFF Women's Championship title for Bangladesh._BSS
