Man Arrested over Rape of Woman in Natore

A man was arrested today (September 25, 2022) in a case filed in connection with raping a housewife in Baraigram upazila of Natore.

Police arrested Manwar Hossain from Upashahar area around 3:30pm after the victim filed a rape case against two people – Sentu Sarker (25) and his accomplice Manwar (27) --with Baraigram Police Station, media reports quoting Abu Siddique, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Quoting the victim, OC Abu Siddique said Sentu called the woman last night and asked her to come outside the house.

When she left the house, Sentu and his accomplice Manwar took her to a nearby field and then Sentu raped her.

The duo fled the scene after locals rushed to the spot on hearing the victim's screams.

Efforts are on to arrest Sentu, the OC added.
