Young Couple Found Dead at Mohammadpur Flat

Police have recovered the bodies of a couple from their rented flat in the city’s Mohammadpur area.

The deceased were identified as Saudi expatriate Noman, 32, and his wife Shamima, 24, who got married around a year back, reports UNB.

On Sunday night, the security guards of their building informed police after getting no response from them for a long time, said Abdur Rab, sub-inspector (SI) of Mohammadpur police station.

Police later found Noman hanging from the ceiling fan and Shamina lying dead on the floor.

The couple was in trouble as their families didn’t accept their marriage, said the SI.

Police suspected that it is a suicide incident.

The bodies were kept at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
