Six Killed in Tangail Microbus-Bus Collision

At least six people were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident at the roundabout east of Bangabandhu Bridge on Dhaka-Tangail highway in the district this afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, police said.

The Bangabandhu Bridge Authority, Fire Service and Police are carrying out the rescue operation.

Police and eyewitnesses said the accident occurred in the area around 12.30pm, when a passenger bus of Ekta Paribahan bound to Dhaka from Chapainawabganj collided with a North Bengal-bound microbus from Dhaka, leaving three persons dead on the spot and 18 others injured.

Three others succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, police said.
