Two Arrested for Raping a Beautician in Dhaka

Three university students were involved in the rape of a pregnant beautician in Shukrabad area of the capital, asking her for online home services.

Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner of Police HM Azimul Haque told a press conference at Shyamoli in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

He said, "The three involved in the rape are students of a private university. They are gone to the dogs."

Shere-Bangla Nagar police arrested two of the three accused. They were arrested on Wednesday night. Police confirmed that they were arrested from different places in the capital, but the police did not say anything about where they were arrested.

The arrested are Md Riyad and Yachin Hossain alias Siam.

He said that the woman who was raped lived in Savar. From there, she would take orders through her online page and go home and provide parlor services to women. Based on the number on the online page, the beautician who was five months pregnant on October 11 received a call from a woman. She was informed that facial services need be provided in Shukrabad area. Based on this information, the beautician left for Shukrabad from Savar.

Riyad, in the name of the woman's brother who asked for service was on the street, repeatedly asked about her location over the phone. Later in the evening, Riyadh took the woman to his rented house in Shukrabad. Asked to wait for his sister there, Riyad later called his two friends Siam and Jitu. Then three people raped the woman in an empty house. After raping the woman, they sent her calling a CNG.

Azimul Haque said, "The victim first went to Dhanmondi police station to take legal action." But as the incident place was not in Dhanmondi police station, she later went to Shere-Bangla Nagar police station and complained. Based on the complaint, a case was filed at the Shere-Bangla police station.

While investigating the case, two people were arrested for their involvement in the rape, he said. He said, 'Jitu is absconding. Efforts are underway to arrest him.

There are various types of complaints in running an online business. The police commissioner of the department mentioned that such incidents put the law enforcement forces in an embarrassing situation and said, "Customers and service providers should be more careful in providing any home service."

Meanwhile, while photographing the accused, the arrested Siam and Riyad claimed to the journalists that they are not involved in this incident, they have been framed.

However, police have not yet released information about the woman who called the beautician first.
