The court granted two-day remand
to 11 battery-operated rickshaw pullers arrested in connection with the attack
on the police box in Mirpur of the capital. Today Saturday (October 15) Dhaka
Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khair Jessy's Court gave this order. Deputy
Inspector Asaduzzaman, General Registration Officer of the concerned court
confirmed this information.
Earlier, 13 rickshaw pullers
arrested in connection with the attack on the police box were produced in
court. After that, the investigating officer of the case applied to remand each
of them for seven days for the purpose of investigating the case.
After the hearing, the court
remanded 11 people for two days. However, the court rejected the remand of the
other two rickshaw pullers and ordered them to be sent to jail.
It is known that yesterday Friday
(October 14) in Mirpur of the capital, angry rickshaw pullers attacked five
traffic police boxes simultaneously during the police operation against battery-operated
rickshaws. A policeman named Mizanur Rahman was injured.
A case has been filed at Pallabi
police station alleging obstruction of police work and waste of government
property in this incident.
Earlier, the police seized two
battery-powered rickshaws on the main road of Pallabi on Friday morning
(October 14). Later the rickshaw pullers got together and attacked five traffic
police boxes in Mirpur. They pelted bricks and stones and vandalized the police
box.
