President Hamid Hosts State Dinner in Honor of Brunei's Sultan

In honor of the Sultan of Brunei, Haji Hassanal Balkiah Mu'izaddin Wadullah, who is visiting Bangladesh, President Md. Abdul Hamid hosted the dinner at Bangabhaban. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with some senior ministers and politicians attended the banquet.

Earlier, the visiting Sultan of Brunei arrived at Bangabhaban on Saturday (October 15) evening. A cultural program was organized in the Durbar Hall in his honour.

When Sultan arrived at Bangabhaban, President Hamid welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers. The President, Sultan of Brunei and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina enjoyed a 25-minute long cultural program organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala.

Several ministers, advisers to the prime minister and high-ranking military and civilian officials were present on the occasion.

The Sultan of Brunei arrived in Dhaka today for the first time on a three-day state visit. He was given a red carpet reception at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport.

A special Royal Brunei Airlines VVIP flight carrying the Sultan and about 42 of his entourage landed at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport at 2:24 pm.
