Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a man with 106 gold bars weighing 12.5-kg from Kashimpur Bangda frontier at Jhikargacha upazila in Jashore.
The detained was identified as Md. Shazu Ahamed, 20, son of Abdus Salam from Boro Kabilpur village in Chowgacha thana of the district.
On a tip-off, a BGB team conducted a raid in the Kashimpur Bangda border area and arrested Shazu with the gold bars after searching his body, said commander of BGB-49 Lieutenant Colonel Shahed Minhaj Siddiki.
"The gold bars worth about Taka 10 crore were recovered after searching
Shazu's body," he said, adding that legal action will be taken against the involved person.
