Syed Nurul Islam Appointed As New DIG of Dhaka Range

Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Syed Nurul Islam has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in Dhaka Range.

This information was revealed in a notification signed by Md Harunur Rashid, Deputy Secretary of Police-1 Branch of Public Security Division of Home Ministry on Sunday (October 23).

Recently, Dhaka Range DIG Habibur Rahman was appointed as the head of tourist police. Syed Nurul Islam was appointed in his vacant post.

It is said that Dhaka is more important than other ranges for various reasons including politics. Keeping these things in mind, Syed Nurul Islam has been brought to this post.

Syed Nurul Islam is an officer of the 20th BCS of the police. After being promoted as DIG, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka, earlier working as Joint Commissioner. He also served as Superintendent of Police of Narayanganj, Mymensingh and Comilla districts. His home is in Chapainawabganj district.

The notification informed that this order will be effective immediately to join the Dhaka range.
