A writ petition has been filed in the High Court today seeking direction to establish network towers, restore and maintain uninterrupted operation of all mobile network connections at the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court Bar Association area.

The writ was filed by Supreme Court lawyers Mohammad Humayan Kabir Pallab and Mohammad Imrul Kayes Khan on behalf of 'Law and Life Foundation Trust'.

Earlier on Wednesday, legal notices were sent to the Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications, BTRC, Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, and Teletalk, demanding immediate measures to resolve the problem.

The notice also mentions that legal action will be taken later if action is not taken within 12 hours of receiving the notice.

According to the writ, thousands of lawyers, officials, and litigants gather at the Supreme Court premises every day, and they need uninterrupted mobile network service to make emergency calls, or surf the internet for professional work.

Due to the lack of networks of all operators in this arena, people are being deprived of communication and internet services.

As the concerned did not take any action in light of the notice, the writ was filed in the High Court.
