BGB Seizes Smuggled Goods, Drugs worth Tk 98.5Cr in Oct

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods, arms, ammunition and drugs worth Taka 98.5 crore across the country in October.

The seized drugs include - 5,73,393 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 2kg 120 gram of crystal meth, 527 gram of heroin, 13,670 bottles of phensidyl, 20,227 bottles of foreign liquor, 3,815 cans of beer,120 litre of local-made liquor, 2,214kg hemp, 2,97,759 packet bidi and cigarette, 44,237 ampoule injections, 7229 bottles of Eskayef syrups, 1,605 Mkedil/Coffeedil, 3,54,250 pieces of medicines, 6,430 pieces of Anegra/senegra tablets and 52,085 pieces of other tablets.

Other smuggled items include - 27 kg 829 gram gold, 24 kg 489 gram silver, 1,45,977 cosmetics, 5,702 imitation jewelries, 12,364 sarees, 5,323 three-pieces, 2,870 readymade garments, 1,827 meter than cloth, 3,564 cft timber, 4,709 kg tea, 35,250 kg coal, one touch stone made statue, 7 trucks, covered-van, a jeep, 10 pick-up, 19 CNG/ easy bike and 81 motorcycle and four pistols, one Rifle, three guns, four magazines, and 29 round bullet.

Meanwhile, BGB arrested 229 smugglers, 119 Bangladeshi nationals and eleven Indian nationals who tried to cross the border illegally._BSS
