'China Won't Interfere in Internal Politics of Bangladesh'

Li Jiming, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, said that China will not interfere in the internal politics of Bangladesh.

He said this while addressing as a special guest at a seminar at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Saturday (November 5).

He said, democracy does not mean only the election. Conducting political activities throughout the time before and after the polls.

He also said that the Teesta project is very important in solving the water problem in Bangladesh. But we also have many rivers. China has been involved in water management for hundreds of years.

In response to a question, he said that the Rohingya crisis is a regional issue. China is mediating this crisis. But many parties are involved here. Neither side constructively wants Rohingya repatriation. And China's main goal is Rohingya repatriation.

Rashed Khan Menon of Workers Party of Bangladesh, a special guest at the seminar, said that China is currently increasing its power. But China does not want to get involved in any war. They want peace. And as a result of the Ukraine-Russia war, the energy crisis has started. China is seeking a negotiated solution to this war.
