The 38-hour transport strike started in Faridpur on Friday morning, a day ahead of BNP's divisional rally.
The strike began around 6:00 am on Friday and will continue till 8:00 pm on Saturday under the initiative of Faridpur Zilla Malik Sramik Oikya Parishad, an organization of bus owners and workers of Faridpur, to demand the ban on three-wheelers on the highway, reports media.
During this period, regional and long-distance passenger buses and minibuses as well as government transport BRTC (Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation) buses will also remain suspended.
