Prices of Essentials Increase Due to Ukraine-Russia War: Health Min

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque today said the prices of essential commodities have increased in the country as the Ukraine-Russia war is affecting the global food market.

"The country has enough food stock...we are taking steps to increase food production in the country to control prices of food" he made the comment while inaugurating the selling of TCB products at a fixed price among the people of Garpara Union under Manikganj Sadar Upazila in the district.

The Health Minister said the present government has taken multiple measures to ensure economic stability in the country.

But the BNP-Jamaat is trying to misguide the people through disseminating false and baseless information to achieve ill political motives, he added.

Maleque urged the people of the country to supplement the efforts of the government to maintain ongoing economic progress.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Muazzem Ali Khan Chowdhury, General Secretary of the district unit of Awami League Advocate Abdus Salam, officials, and representatives of local government bodies, among others, were present at the function with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Abdul Latif in the chair.
