Militants Snatching: One Accused in Remand after Surrender

The court has granted four-day remand to Idi Amin, the accused in the case of snatching two death-sentenced militants from the main gate of the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.

Today Sunday (November 27) Idi Amin surrendered through his lawyer and appealed for bail. In view of the appeal, the court of Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain ordered to send him to jail.

After that, in the case of Kotwali Police Station, Inspector Muhammad Abul Kalam Azad, Inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC), appealed for a 10-day remand for proper investigation. Additional Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Tofazzal Hossain gave this remand order after the hearing.

Ashraf Ali, General Registration Officer of the Court's concerned police station (GRO) confirmed this information.

On November 20, around 12 noon, two militants were brought to court in a case. After the attendance, the policemen were taking them toward Hajat Khana (Jail). At that time, their associates snatched the militant members Moinul Hasan Shamim and Abu Siddique Sohail by spraying them in the eyes and faces of the police. These two militants are the death-sentenced accused in the Dipan murder case.

In this incident, Court Inspector Julhas filed a case in the name of 20 people at Kotwali police station. In the case, seven-eight other people were named as unknown accused.
