The group of BUET students, who went to the DB office today to get details about the death of their peer Fardin Noor Parash, said detectives could not produce any solid evidence in favour of their claim that he died by suicide.

The students said it was not clear whether Fardin actually took his own life, and DB officials could not show any such solid or concrete evidence. The DB officials said they were also not 100 percent sure that Fardin died by suicide, the students said.

They were talking to reporters after coming out of the DB office.

The students also claimed the evidences had gaps.

Citing an example, the students said the driver of the human haulier, which dropped Fardin near a bridge on the night he disappeared, told investigators that there was someone with the BUET student.

"But, it is not yet clear who that person was," the student said.

They said apart from such gaps, the investigating officer showed them concrete evidence on other issues. The students said they were pleased with police's work.

Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid, head of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, also spoke to reporters following the BUET students' visit.

"I have shown evidence of Fardin's suicide to BUET students. They were quite satisfied," the official said.

"Fardin's friend Bushra has nothing to do with the incident, will let the court know about this matter," he added._agncies
