As the metro rail service was open for common people, passengers complained of problems with purchasing tickets from vending machines due to technical glitches.

Six vending machines (digital ticket booths), three each at Uttara and Agargaon of metro rail, were launched at 8 am. After a while, problems started to appear.

Later between 9 am and 9:30 am server error occurred in all the booths. At one point, they all stopped functioning. Later ticket distribution started manually.

Ticket sales started at two manual booths each at two stations at Agargaon and Diabari in Uttara. From there, passengers travel by metro rail by collecting tickets.

Iftikhar Hossain, GM (Operation) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), said that many people are trying for tickets at the same time, so the problem has occurred. Adapting a system takes time. We are trying to improve the service.

DMTCL GM Iftikhar also said, we got a very good response. We will keep the metro rail running from 8 am to 12 pm today, Thursday. I will give tickets till 11:50. Many people are out on the platform today, but not everyone will have the opportunity to travel. After 11.50 minutes I will ask those who are outside the platform to leave. Trains leave the station every ten minutes.
